BUKIT LANJAN: Commitment of volunteers vital to sustainability and success of community pre-schools

Tabika (pre-school) Kemas can only be sustainable and succeed with the sincere commitment of volunteers.

And the volunteers, comprising parents of Tabika Kemas pupils, can make or break the sustainability and success of such community preschools.

“Children are the jewel of happy families. Therefore, there is no reason whatsoever for parents not to support wholeheartedly such community pre-school education efforts and programmes,” Gerakan Deputy Speaker Syed Abdul Razak Alsagoff said.

He said parents must strive to provide the best guidance when raising their children.

“Discipline and parental guidance are now ever so important due to the influence of internet because not all content in cyberspace are good,” he added.
Syed Razak, who is Gerakan’s nominee to contest N.37 Bukit Lanjan in the coming 14th General Election (GE14), reiterated his advice to parents to give due importance to their children’s study of the English language.

“Bahasa Malaysia is the national language of unity but a strong command of the English language is vital to a better understanding of Science and Mathematics.

“That’s because English is an international or universal language. And it is also vital for higher education in overseas and also in conducting foreign business,” he added.

Syed Razak also told the parents that “I am into politics not for financial gains”.

“Give me four years to prove myself to you and Bukit Lanjan. If I fail to serve and deliver to your expectations, please give me the boot.

“My aim in politics is to promote neighbourhood and national unity. But primary school education is in my heart and I will also strive to raise the standard of education in Bukit Lanjan via community programmes and projects,” he added.
