BUKIT LANJAN: Enough is enough! Clampdown on gangster Datuks and Tan Sris!

Six Datuks among 114 suspected gangsters arrested. Hello! Why are they still Datuks?
BUKIT LANJAN: Enough is enough! Clampdown on gangster Datuks and Tan Sris!

Another gangster-like ‘Datuk Seri’ is reported to have misbehaved in a bar in Bandar Baru Klang on July 31, 2017.

Isn’t it time for the authorities to take the behaviour of such Datuks, Datuk Seris and Tan Sris seriously and rid them of their titles?

“They are smearing the state titles and are behaving like demi Gods and untouchables as far as bullying and crime are concerned,” Gerakan Deputy Speaker Syed Abdul Razak Alsagoff said.

He said it was perplexing that the authorities had not seen the need to discipline such ‘gangsters’ or take any action to discourage such scumbag behaviour.

“Such Malaysians bestowed with honorific state titles don’t deserve such high standing in Malaysian communities and societies.

“As long as the authorities don’t take such ‘gangsters’ and ‘bullies’ seriously, Malaysians will continue to disrespect those bestowed with such titles.

“They will continue to treat Datuks, Datuk Seris and Tan Sris as jokers undeserving of such honorific titles. In fact, the rakyat (people) already have zero respect for such titles.

“There is no more value in the titles in the eyes of the rakyat. Who is to blame for the current predicament?” he asked.

Syed Razak, who is Gerakan’s nominee to contest N.37 Bukit Lanjan in the coming 14th General Election (GE14), said the authorities now had no choice but to clamp down hard on those who misbehaved and were unfit to continue holding the title.

“Clean up the mess or state awards will just go down the drain in status and recognition. Stop state awards from becoming the butt of jokes among Malaysians,” he added.

Couple claims assaulted for being 'too noisy'

BY ALLISON LAI

Thoo, who needed over 60 stitches to his head and face, says he was in coma for a day.
KLANG: A couple claims they were assaulted by a group of people, including a "Datuk Seri", at a bar in Bandar Baru Klang for being too noisy.

Thoo Kang Wei, 33, who needed over 60 stitches to his head and face, said he was in coma for a day, while his girlfriend Chong Sook Kuan, 31, suffered cuts on her face.

Thoo said he was having a drink and playing cards with Chong and two other male friends at the bar at about 9pm on Monday when several men from the next table told them off.

Thoo said he apologised to the men and explained that they were just playing games and didn't mean to disturb anyone. He said the men returned to their table then.

"Moments later, two of them returned and shouted at us to stay quiet. They charged at us and even pushed one of my friends," said Thoo.

He said a middle-aged woman from that table then pulled him and one of the men outside and questioned him.

"I explained to them that we were just playing card games and apologised again if we were noisy," Thoo said.

He added that he went to the table and apologised once more, adding that the woman then told Chong to be quiet and not cause any trouble.

"We decided to leave immediately. So, I told my friends to go first while my girlfriend and I stayed behind to pay the bill.

"That was when the woman came to stop us from leaving and asked us to join her friends and 'play'. Soon, we were surrounded by her friends and they started hurling abuse at us," he said.

Thoo alleged that although he pleaded with the group to let him and his girlfriend go, one of the men flung a glass at him, hitting the table.

He said glass shards hit them causing them to bleed, and that other men also started throwing glasses.

Chong said staff at the bar rushed Thoo to the hospital while she stayed back to make sure that the group did not leave until the police arrived.

"I saw the man who first threw a glass at us drive off in a dark colour Mercedes Benz bearing a VIP emblem on the registration plate," she said, adding that they lodged a police report after Thoo was discharged from hospital.

Social activist Peter Tan, who highlighted the case, claimed that the car registration number showed that it belonged to a man with a Datuk Seri title.
