BUKIT LANJAN: Docs, lawyers no more the top professions in the world

BUKIT LANJAN: Docs, lawyers no more the top professions in the world

Malaysian parents, especially the Chinese, should heed the changing times in the 21st Century digital era and start thinking out of the box for their children’s future.

There are absolutely too many doctors, lawyers and pharmacists in Malaysia. It is time to start planning for our children to be compatible and relevant to the digital world.

“In a report by ACE Profits Academy, the Top 3 paid freelance jobs in Malaysia are graphic designer, programmer and financial trader,” Gerakan Deputy Speaker Syed Abdul Razak said.

He said parents should start preparing their children to acquire academic knowledge and skills that groom them to become employable graduates.

“Doctors, lawyers, pharmacists are not the best or ideal professions anymore. Those with Information Technology (IT)-related skills are in demand globally.

“Multi-nationals like Amazon.com, Apple Inc, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, etc are all looking for people with super talent IT skills. And they are prepared to pay between RM30,000 and RM50,000 a month,”he added.

Syed Razak, who is Gerakan’s nominee to contest N.37 Bukit Lanjan in the coming 14th General Election (GE14), said “computer and IT wizards the most sought-after talent globally today”.

“There is no need to lament and scream if your children fail to secure places into medical or law faculties in institutions of higher learning. There are so many areas of science and technology-IT related skills for everyone to learn and acquire,” he added.
